Their is a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial properties, spanning a large portion of the U.S.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an Accounting Manager for a mid to large sized company, overseeing the accounting for 150+ multi-state properties, including financial statement preparation and analysis. You must be an expert in Yardi, since you'll be the go to for the team on software questions. This role requires someone who is forward thinking, analytical, and a detail oriented problem solver.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager with a strong background in Yardi and Real Estate/Property Management to join our growing team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to utilize and expand your accounting and financial management skills in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial analysis, financial reporting, forecasting, strategic planning, and internal controls of our company.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, you will be tasked with a broad range of responsibilities that will directly impact the financial health and growth of our company. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing and managing the general ledger.
2. Preparing and analyzing accurate monthly financials and management reports.
3. Managing the financial reporting of all property management and real estate accounting activities.
4. Conducting detailed financial analysis to provide data-driven insights for decision making.
5. Implementing and enforcing robust financial controls to minimize risk.
6. Managing the budgeting process, including the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
7. Assisting with strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the company's operations.
8. Collaborating with other departments to streamline procedures, establish best practices, and optimize cost efficiency.
9. Ensuring compliance with all internal policies, relevant regulations, and industry best practices.
10. Oversee accounting operations staff including accounting clerks, Staff Accountants and Senior Accountants.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong foundation in accounting and financial management, coupled with a deep understanding of the real estate and property management industry. The following qualifications are required:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role within the property management or real estate industry, with multi-state experience.
3. Proven experience with financial analysis, financial reporting, forecasting, strategic planning, financial accounting, internal controls, and budgeting.
4. Proficient in accounting software, with a strong emphasis on Yardi systems.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of financial statements and experience in general ledger functions.
6. Solid understanding of property management or real estate accounting.
7. Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing a team.
8. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
