Job Details
As part of our Finance Team, the Accounting Manager will own the end-to-end accounting processes from the day-to-day transactions to period-end account reconciliations, closing entries, and financial reporting, as well as implementing systems and policies and partnering with business stakeholders on ad-hoc projects.
- Review information in the accounting and other systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for both financial accounting (external) and management accounting (internal) purposes. Identify and explain period-to-period and budget-to-actual variances.
- Manage efficient and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes (including reviewing journal entries, reconciliations and more). Constantly improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
- Oversee on-going reconciliation process in multiple areas including Cash, AR, AP, Credit Card, Fixed Assets and Depreciation, Prepaid Expenses and more, involving deep understanding of business and transactions.
- Review bills, expenses, reimbursements and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee timely and accurate customer invoicing and collection processes.
- Drive various implementation and research projects within the finance team.
- Work cross-functionally with other teams such as Sales, CS, and Operations, to knowledge share, prioritize, plan and deliver results. This may be on project teams or work streams or in everyday interactions.
- Oversee company payroll processing
- Other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or other equivalent experience. CPA is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience
- Experience in Insurance / Healthcare industry is a preferred.
- Solid computer literacy and familiarity with communication tools such as Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, etc. with advanced knowledge of financial - SaaS systems such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, Expensify, Divvy etc. Systems implementation and integration experience is preferred.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to direct and supervise accounting team
