The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations related to inventory accounting, ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies. This role will manage a team of accounting professionals The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory-heavy industries.

- Manage a team of direct reports, including Accounts Payable, Billing, and an Accounting Assistant.
- Monitor and analyze balance sheets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable with a focus on inventory accounting.
- Perform and oversee various balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies, while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
- Lead customer audits and assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor sales tax activity, including submissions, and provide support for related audits.
- Manage employee expense reports, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Review and approve invoices to ensure coding and terms align with purchase orders and invoices.
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to management for decision-making purposes.
- Prepare and review draft accrual and adjusting entries as needed.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all journal entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and timely.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 10+ years of accounting experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive experience in inventory-heavy industries; distribution experience is highly preferred.
- Strong technical skills in GAAP, variance analysis, and ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate variances down to the transaction level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining internal controls.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
