Core Responsibilities:
- Summarize and manage Revenue, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and financial analyses.
- Review payroll postings and associated tax filings.
- Prepare or review all tax filings and payments.
- Develop budgets and forecasts or assist in their preparation.
- Monitor cash flows and enforce budgetary controls.
- Follow up on overdue Accounts Receivable accounts.
- Review vendor invoices and ensure accurate account coding.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Track capital assets and calculate amortization.
- Oversee finance department personnel and perform office administration as needed.
- Maintain organized and accessible accounting filing systems.
- Assist other departments as necessary.
- Potentially supervise staff accountants, payroll administrators, and accounts payable clerks.
- Attend and participate in Association Board meetings as required.
Specific Requirements:
- HOA/Property Management experience is required.
- Experience in reporting and presenting financial information to a Board of Directors is preferred.
- Familiarity with HOA/Property Management audit processes is preferred.
- Ability to review and understand Homeowners Association Governing Documents.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting or equivalent education and experience.
- Five years of accounting experience in the Hospitality Industry and/or CHAE certification is desired.
- Two years of supervisory-level experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and county tax laws and filings.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to perform calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, with superior Excel skills required.
- Experience with various accounting software is a plus.
- Flexibility to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
- Professional, friendly, and enthusiastic demeanor.
