About the Job
2024 is shaping up to be a groundbreaking year for our company! We're on a rapid growth trajectory and are eagerly seeking an Accounting Manager who is passionate about tackling complex problems. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced financial team with backgrounds in investment banking, hedge fund management, M&A, FP&A, Controllership, and Big 4 Audit.
As a direct report to our VP of Finance, you will engage deeply with a range of financial activities and operational complexities across multiple product lines and international entities. Your responsibilities will include overseeing critical aspects of our month-end close processes and contributing to executive and board-level financial reporting. You will also play a pivotal role in our annual audit, tax preparation, and the refinement of our accounting policies as we prepare for an IPO.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage key elements of month-end financial closing activities, including revenue recognition, expense accruals, and intercompany transactions.
Ensure the integrity of day-to-day accounting operations and monitor any irregularities.
Review and mentor junior team members, enhancing their professional growth.
Prepare and present financial reports to executive teams and board members.
Handle specific treasury functions such as contractor and tax payments, and manage cross-border settlements.
Lead portions of our annual financial audit and oversee tax filings.
Develop memorandums on Technical Accounting for significant transactions.
Interpret new accounting standards to determine applicability and integration into our practices.
Collaborate on enhancing accounting operations and control systems, driving improvements across the organization.
Ideal Candidate:
Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Brings 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally combining public practice with industry exposure.
Has a strong foundation in IPO preparation.
Exhibits meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational capabilities.
Communicates effectively, with robust verbal and written skills.
Knowledgeable in key accounting principles (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350-40 preferred).
Has prior team management experience (preferred).
Experienced with Netsuite (preferred).
