Job Details:
As an Accounting Manager in the Manufacturing industry, you will play a crucial role in financial planning and record-keeping, as well as financial reporting to higher management. This is a permanent position that requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and excellent analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing, be a CPA, and have a strong understanding of cost accounting and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Manage the cost accounting system, procedures, and cost control initiatives.
3. Prepare and analyze financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
4. Ensure all financial operations comply with state and federal laws and regulations.
5. Coordinate with the internal audit team to conduct annual audits.
6. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
7. Develop budgets in accordance with the requirements of company departments.
8. Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
9. Collaborate with the management team to craft financial strategies and plans.
10. Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
5. Understanding of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
7. Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
8. Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
11. Ability to work with large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports.
12. Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing a team and driving results.
