Position Summary:
To direct and oversee all the financial activities of the business, reporting to the CFO, including preparation of an annual budget, financial analysis, accounting, financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and other applicable tax and regulatory policies as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct post-close reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data and resolve any discrepancies.
- Leads the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, job cost updates and reports for government regulatory agencies.
- Manage general accounting functions, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections.
- HR/Payroll processes and reporting.
- Oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions. Meets regularly with department heads to keep informed and to offer direction.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.
- Support cash accounting activities, including cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and treasury management.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
- Confers with CFO and department heads to coordinate and prioritize planning.
- Workers Comp & other employee benefit reporting.
- Coordinate annual audit and external audits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or state issued equivalency.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in Manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance, preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standard.
- A real team player with high relationship skills.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills a must.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Analytical ability to research, identify and resolve issues.
- Crystal Reports a plus
The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $102,000 to $130,000 annually based on years of experience, position responsibilities and geographic location.
