Schedule: School Day: M - F, 7:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Non-School Day: M - F, 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Nights and weekends as needed.
Classification: Full Time, Exempt

Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing the operation of the School’s Business Office.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of the annual School Budget and the annual Financial Audit. Ensure proper accounting and procedural controls are adhered to in order to protect the School’s assets.
- Prepare monthly financial statements in collaboration with the Director of Finance. Develop ad-hoc reporting as needed.
- Supervise Business Office Staff.
- Manage School Store Manager and store operations including vendor/product selection, purchases, pricing models, inventory, on-line orders, and store hours.
- Participate in all aspects of our annual fundraiser, the DRIVE.
- Manage and maintain accounting records, general ledger and financial systems (Operating, Building, and Endowment Funds).
- Coordinate the closing entries for student tuition, accounts payable and cash receipts.
- Record adjusting journal entries as needed to correct or adjust selected accounts.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and bank statements on a monthly basis and identify any adjustments required.
- Analyze and investigate unusual or unfavorable account variances and discuss with appropriate individuals. Distribute monthly department reports.
- Maintain/coordinate various credit card programs and equipment including monthly reconciliation of credit card receipts.
- Supervise the Student Billing process including the reconciliation of various tuition discounts and calculation and issuance of student withdrawal refunds.
- Work with the School Registrar to initiate student enrollment contracts, maintenance of the enrollment system and assist parents as needed. Publish tuition and fee schedules.
- Calculate Michigan sales tax liability monthly and issue annual report to State of Michigan.
- Monitor, facilitate and support raffles, outings and functions held by various school groups.
- Make bank deposits for all funds weekly.
- Monitor tuition payment activity, communicate with parents and issue collection. Notifications as required. Discuss and approve parent requests for deferred payment plans.
- Publish tuition and fee schedules.
- Participate in the Tuition Assistance Committee. Review and manage Tuition Assistance applications, manage software issues, and communicate with parents as needed.
- Assist Technology Director with E-Rate program as needed.
- Reconcile Summer Camp enrollments, receipts and coaches pay.
- Assist the Food Service program with system issues and student lunch accounts.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA license preferred.
- Minimum 5 years related financial and accounting progressive experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical thinking abilities required; proven ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
- Proven ability to manage people, departments and projects.
- Proven time management skills; ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain confidential and professional working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, vendors and the general public.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. Proficient in Blackbaud and Google mail.
- Completed or willing to complete Archdiocese of Detroit’s Protecting God’s Children course.
- Must submit to drug testing, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
