Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing our financial operations to ensure accuracy and compliance with the law. Your duties will include:
1. Leading and coordinating the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
2. Preparing and publishing timely monthly and annual financial statements.
3. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting.
4. Researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
5. Overseeing and managing all general ledger activities.
6. Ensuring compliance with state and federal tax filing requirements by studying regulations, adhering to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
7. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
8. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
9. Coordinating and directing the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of an organization.
10. Directing internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An advanced degree is a plus.
2. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
3. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a leadership role.
4. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
6. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
7. Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
8. A proven track record of working with senior management and providing actionable insights.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
11. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
12. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
