Accounting Manager

Exciting growing company seeking an interim, detail-oriented General Ledger Accounting Manager to report to the Controller. This role involves overseeing and managing the general ledger function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing support to accounting staff. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, review accounting projects, and ensure accuracy. The role requires both accounting expertise and strong people management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the general ledger (GL) accounting team to ensure accurate and timely month end close
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Oversee the review and management of financial projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, finance, and internal controls) to ensure proper accounting treatment and resolution of issues.
- Review work, ensuring that costs, revenues, and budgets are properly tracked and reported in the general ledger.
- Collaborate with contoller to facilitate audits and ensure timely completion.
- Monitor and manage the accounting team's performance, ensuring deadlines are met and the quality of financial data is maintained.
- Facilitate team meetings to review month end close tasks are on track
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in general ledger accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience with big data and pivot tables in excel.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Experience in a leadership role within a finance department.
- Project management skills
- Experience with Excel macros
