Job Description:
A CFS client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join the team in downtown Indianapolis, IN. As a vital member of our leadership team, you will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies, including those specific to a unionized environment. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to managing financial processes in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Oversight
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with union agreements and labor reporting requirements.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
2. Reporting and Compliance
- Generate accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders and external entities.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
3. Process Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory accounts in collaboration with the operations team.
4. Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
- Act as a liaison between finance and other departments, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Work closely with union representatives on financial aspects related to collective bargaining agreements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, ideally in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of unionized work environments and collective bargaining agreements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
