Accounting Manager at Blackstone Talent

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Accounting Manager to join our growing team. This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping the company’s financial operations. We are looking for an individual ready to roll up their sleeves and help out within all areas of accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Assist the Senior Controller in developing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial initiatives.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff, fostering professional growth and team development.
• Perform hands-on accounting tasks as needed to ensure deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Help with the processing of Sales Tax and Property Tax.
• Support the external audit process and prepare necessary documentation.
• Stay current on changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
