Position Overview
We are seeking a Direct Hire Accounting Manager for one of our non-profit clients. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial health of the organization by managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
General Accounting:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported in a timely manner.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
- Provide support during external audits, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Collaborate with the Controller and department heads in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing variance analysis and financial insights to management.
- Assist in developing financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment to promote continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience in non-profit accounting and familiarity with non-profit healthcare financial management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
