This is a permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting operations, including cash management, financial reporting, audit and tax, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). We are on the hunt for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our team in the legal industry. This is a permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting operations, including cash management, financial reporting, audit and tax, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law firm accounting, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
- Develop strategies for better financial flow and cash management.
- Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
- Create monthly and annual financial reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
- Manage and coordinate all auditing activities.
- Coordinate with tax advisors for tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.
- Ensure the company's financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current activities and future growth.
- Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years of proven accounting experience, preferably in the legal industry.
- Professional accounting certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Excellent computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
