Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a background in the automotive dealership industry. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with industry regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making within our dealership network. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial management, internal controls, and operational efficiency within a dealership setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and GAAP.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide management with timely and insightful financial analysis and reports to support strategic business decisions.

Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop, implement, and monitor annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with dealership managers to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Track financial performance against the budget and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and reduce costs.

Cash Flow Management:
- Manage dealership cash flow, ensuring liquidity and minimizing financial risks.
- Oversee receivables, payables, and inventory management to optimize working capital and support sales goals.

Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and compliance initiatives, liaising with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.

Operational Support:
- Partner with dealership leadership to enhance financial processes, streamline operations, and support revenue growth.
- Provide financial oversight of inventory management, cost control, and financial forecasting related to sales, service, and parts departments.

Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, accuracy, and accountability.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set development goals, and provide training on industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role, with at least 3 years in the automotive dealership industry.
- Proven experience in dealership accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds) and accounting software. Advanced Excel skills are required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive industry regulations, including floorplan financing, dealer reserves, and warranty administration.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
