Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform, review, and oversee all general ledger accounting functions.
- Conduct regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
- Prepare and manage the company's budget, implement financial plans, and work with management to forecast future budgets.
- Conduct regular financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel, including the management of related benefits and deductions.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable as needed, ensuring timely processing and accurate record-keeping.
- Manage financial aspects of property, construction, or similar projects, including budgeting, invoicing, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
- Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
Job Details
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the construction, real estate, or similar industry.
- Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
- Proven expertise in financial and accounting software applications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
