Accounting Manager/Controller ( Manufacturing ) - Vaco

Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor is currently adding an Accounting Manager/Controller to their team. This role is open due to growth and reports to the Controller.

Role is very hands-on and will be in-office.

The Accounting Manager will ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits. They will also oversee the accounts payable function, payroll function, monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.

• Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, and report preparation
• Improving efficiencies and identify cost saving opportunities
• Help with implementation of ERP software
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
• Budgeting
• Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions
• Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses
• Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns
• Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes
• Manage a team of 3+ people

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Manufacturing Environment Expertise a MUST or Public Accounting Experience with Manufacturing/Pharmaceutical clients
• CPA Ideal
• Public Accounting Experience
