Summary: This new role is an exciting opportunity to join a wholly owned subsidiary of a recently public, dynamic, and growing company. The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting function, specifically the cost accounting and related processes for the Company’s wholly owned manufacturing subsidiary. This role will serve as a leader of change for process improvement, specifically with respect to establishment and updating of standards within the inventory process. This role reports to the Controller – TB Arhaus. This role is based out of our location in Conover, NC facility with an opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in month-end close activities including the review of journal entries and financial statements
- Establishment, review, and updating of standard costs including directing the analysis of manufacturing costs and reviewing reasons for variations from standards
- Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-process, and finished-goods inventory
- Setup and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Assists accounting team to ensure cost of goods sold are reflected correctly in daily revenue/accounting transactions
- Interface with manufacturing to manage purchasing and inventory
- Coordinating physical inventories and fixed asset counts
- Drive continuous improvement activities for inventory/costing process
- Partner with manufacturing leaders (operations and finance) to ensure that business is aware of inventory and cost accounting matters and the potential impact on financial results
- Lead initiatives to improve accounting and operation processes
- Coordinate with internal and external audit for accounting and control items
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
- 5+ years of business experience including costing background or finance within a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of audit and accounting principles
- Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
- High level of ethics, integrity, judgment, and confidentiality
