Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general and entity accounting, cost accounting, and more.
3. Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting.
4. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary.
5. Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the senior leadership team; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep the senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status.
6. Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
7. Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
8. Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.
9. Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting management or a similar role in the Manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, cost accounting, accounts payable, general ledger, financial analysis, financial reporting, strategic planning, financial auditing, payroll management, and tax preparation.
4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Strong leadership qualities and a team player.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to direct and supervise.
10. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
11. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
12. Experience with Sage100
