Manager, Financial Accounting
Our client, a well-established technology company headquartered in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Manager of Financial Accounting to join their remote team. This role is crucial for overseeing full-cycle accounting for both U.S. and international entities, ensuring monthly close tasks and compliance with SOX procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of accountants, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and contribute to financial reporting excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and reviewing team members' work.
- Ensure global marketing expenses are accurately tracked and reported.
- Collaborate with global teams, external service providers, and vendors to align with company goals.
- Identify and implement process improvements in coordination with the Senior Manager of Financial Accounting.
- Ensure SOX controls are properly documented and followed.
- Mentor and support team members’ professional development.
- Assist in quarterly and annual financial audits and international compliance.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA (or equivalent) designation required.
- 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role; public accounting experience preferred, with Big 4 or public/private mix.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Proven project management skills within a fast-paced, global public company.
- Experience coaching a team and reviewing work of others.
- Proficiency in NetSuite.
