As an Assistant Controller, in this role, you will assist the CFO with the accounting functions for this outstanding non-profit entity. You will work alongside community members and donors, who work hard for a better Birmingham.

Compensation:
- Salary Range: $100K, plus benefits, that include 90% Paid coverage.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reconciliations of investments.
- Responsible for monitoring the Foundation’s investments and ensuring all transactions are handled properly.
- Assist the CFO with cash management within the investment accounts.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring GAAP compliance.
- Responsible for the oversight of the daily functions of the finance department.
- Reconcile bank statements to the subsidiary report of the general ledger.
- Assist the CFO in preparing the annual budget.
- Oversee the process of monthly donor statements.
- Record all IRS 8283 & 8383 for gifts of privately held stocks.
What You’ll Need to be Considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 5 years of full accounting experience.
- Full knowledge of GAAP & FASB for non- profits.
- Proficient in Office 365
- Advanced in Excel.
