On of Vaco’s highly-acquisitive PE-backed clients is looking to onboard an Acquisitions & Integration Manager to help support the integration side of their M&A activity as well as serving as a “PMO” for Netsuite optimization and ongoing automations for accounting. The Acquisition Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing the financial integration and reporting of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
This position is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting treatment, compliance with financial reporting standards, and efficient integration of acquired businesses into the company's financial systems. Managers should have a track record of working with executives and leaders in other divisions to drive efficiencies and improvements.
Day-to-day
- Lead integrations of acquisitions into their chart of accounts and accounting system.
- Lead improvements and optimization of Netsuite including generating cleaner financial reports for the private equity group.
- Drive automations across the accounting team, developing SOP’s and evaluating current processes in place.
- Lead the accounting due diligence process for mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions.
- Analyze and document the financial implications of acquisition agreements and transaction structures.
- Assess purchase price allocations (PPA), goodwill, and intangible assets in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., ASC 805).
- Assist in the valuation of acquired assets and liabilities.
Background
- Degree in Accounting or related field, MBA preferred.
- Extensive experience with M&A work, including integrations, purchase and acquisition accounting and/or business combinations.
- Excellent communication: able to break down and explain finance and accounting concepts to individuals outside of the field.
- Personality: able to thrive in a very hands-on, dynamic environment with lots of moving parts.
