Internships are full time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20. The 2025 spring internship class begins on Thursday, January 23, and runs through Friday, May 9. Core hours during the internship are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. The spring internship requires in-office attendance at our Alexandria location five days a week.
What It Means to be a Reingold Accounting Intern
As our firm’s Accounting Intern, you will be supporting Reingold’s mission-driven consulting work for government, nonprofit, and commercial clients across the country.
Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
- Review large volume of vendor invoices and employee reimbursement requests, and enter them into our accounting system, Intacct.
- Reach out to project managers and credit card holders for approvals, descriptions, and proper contract specific or general ledger coding.
- Reconcile credit card statements and ensure proper coding and cost segregation.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor invoices and supporting documentation, including remittance addresses and tax information.
- Assist accounts payable director with vendor follow-up on payment status, invoice documentation and authorization, and other billing issues.
- Assist accounting team members with finance ticketing system.
- Support department leadership with state tax account management and policy development.
- Support and maintain Monday.com work management boards.
- Perform other duties as required to support the Finance Department.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Education or work experience in accounting preferred.
