Accounting Hotel Revenue Audit Specialist
Summary/Objectives
The revenue audit specialist verifies all revenue from hotel/bar/restaurant has been posted correctly in the PMS. This position also ensures all tax rates were run at the correct rate and that all receipts have been accounted for, batched and cash taken to the bank. The revenue audit specialist posts to the GL and closes month-end. This is a Hotel Management Corporate office located in Gulfport MS.
Observes confidentiality of company matters.
Essential Functions
- Reviews daily audit report from property, verifying and reconciling POS data from detail reports to SCDR summaries
- Compares SCDR rooms reported to rooms reported on Flash
- Researching, documenting, and reporting discrepancies
- Follows up with GM/Manager to assure all necessary corrective action has been taken
- Checks readmission of reported errors for accuracy
- Verifies all credit cards were batched and all cash taken to bank
- Follows up on credit cards not batched and any cash not taken to the bank
- Promptly gets explanation on shortages not documented
- Investigates shortages comparing reported to dropped
- Ensures property has all tax-exempt information needed to comply and when changes are made the PMS rate is adjusted
- Ensures all required tax- exempt documentation is received and posted by PMS at correct % required by state
- Reviews house accounts for current stays only
- Reviews Advance Deposits for past arrivals
- Reports/Inquires on any over 60 day Direct Bill accounts- gives updated report to supervisor at month end deadline

Supervisor Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copier, fax, scanners, file cabinets and calculators. While performing this job, noise level is expected to be mild/moderate.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment. Work is completed in a office environment. Specific vision requirements include close vision. Employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, kneel, or crawl. The employee may frequently need to lift up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lift and move up to 25 lbs.
Position Type and Expected hours of work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with flexibility.

Required Education and experience
High School or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience
AS Accounting or post High School courses in Accounting
Hotel Front Desk/Audit experience preferred
