Accounting Finance Specialist - AM Pierce and Associates

The Position: We are looking for a candidate who will be providing consulting and financial/accounting support to BSO-11 (Budget Submitting Office) Business Offices.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 annually, based upon an individual's level of experience, skillset, and education. The range that is given is an estimate and may vary based on contractual constraints. At AM Pierce & Associates, it is our goal to provide equitable compensation to all employees.

The Location: Washington, D.C.

The Work Environment: Hybrid

Requires the employee to work on-site one day a week at the government program office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for the majority of the workday. The other working days will be performed remotely. The employee may be required to walk short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.

The Description:

The successful candidate will work with BSO-11 clients to:

• Examine/develop processes to support the accounting department to include new processes of Navy ERP.
• Participating in working groups related to G-Invoicing, Budget Execution Valuation, DARQ, and Tie-Points
• Updating and maintaining standard operating procedures and policies
• Performing data analysis related to funding, month end close, year-end close.
• Perform compilation and review of field level journal vouchers.
• Review and reconcile monthly treasury reports when compared to the general ledger.
• Understand the behavior and functionality of various general ledger accounts.
• Review and analyze trial balances for pre-close and post-close analysis.
• Review and research unmatched transactions.

Education & Experience:

• Active DoD Secret Clearance, required.
• Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of experience.
  • ALLOWABLE SUBSITIUTIONS: Associate's degree with eight (8) years of experience.
• Accounting, audit, and/or Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) experience
• Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) experience
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills to include performing financial analysis.
• Basic Accounting Skills (preferably Government accounting background)
• Self-Driven and efficient
• Detailed Oriented
• Analytical Skills
• Good Communication Skills

Travel:

• On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
