SUMMARY:
The Accounting Coordinator role involves a variety of accounting tasks, primarily focused on customer invoicing, data entry, and client billing, with additional support for vendor payment processing. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and the capacity to collaborate with both the finance team and operational staff. The role will report to the Project Accounting Manager within the Finance team and provide an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in accounting.
This is a part-time, in-office position, requiring 20-24 hours per week, with a flexible schedule. There is no work on Fridays.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enter invoices into Costpoint accurately and efficiently.
- Review and confirm outstanding statements to ensure timely payments.
- Monitor and manage email communications related to billing and invoices.
- Generate and send billing invoices to clients promptly.
- Assist with data entry and updates in Costpoint, maintaining accuracy in financial records.
- Review P-Card activity to ensure compliance and accuracy in expenditures.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Support the finance team’s core functions, including timely customer collections and vendor payment processing.
- Support Finance team as needed on special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- No prior experience required, though some exposure to accounting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint) is a plus.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
