Accounting Coordinator

Job Description:
The Accounting Coordinator will collaborate with various Accounting and Business departments, providing essential business-related accounting support. This role involves tasks related to accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL), and cash items. Additionally, the position will support the transition activities tied to the sale of a portion of the marine business to an external buyer, particularly assisting with data and documents required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accounting documents and details for AP, AR, GL, or cash items to the Defense finance teams or external buyers, as requested.
- Coordinate the preparation of necessary data for the M&A group, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as directed by management, including but not limited to reconciliations, journal entry reviews, and other accounting-related duties.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience, or a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of accounting experience.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Solid understanding of general accounting practices, including accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ideally rated 4/10 or above on a 1-10 scale).
- SAP experience.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple demands and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
