Objectives
The controller will keep financial records, prepare reports, and update financial information for multiple small companies. The controller must be familiar with accounting procedures for both for-profit and non-profit businesses. The ideal candidate will be able to process business transactions, handle accounts payable and receivable, expense reports, receipts, cash management, payroll, forecasting, and other financial matters. Proven accounting experience required.

Variance Analysis

Monthly Reporting Packages for founders

Coordination across the employee base of multiple entities

Developing and implementing financial policies

Ensuring Compliance with financial and accounting regulations
-
Assisting with corporate financial decisions
-
Processing business transactions
-
Reporting and posting of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable
-
Fact-checking invoices for payment and processing
-
Preparing and approving POs, purchasing necessary items
-
Posting customer checks, vendor payments, and ACH payments
-
Weekly payroll for all staff
-
Handling bookkeeping and following accounting best practices
-
Maintaining sales ledger and general ledger
-
Monitoring vendor statements, wire transfer requests, and other transactions

Treasury infrastructure
-
Audits, forecasts, and other fiscal planning
-
Correcting and modifying inaccurate files and records
-
Reconciling account balances
-
Outbound phone calls and e-mails as needed
-
Filing, mailing, and other duties as needed

Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

This role does not include supervisory responsibilities
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field

Experience using QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Pro, or similar accounting programs
-
Experience in non-profit accounting/management
-
1-3 years of proven accounting/book-keeping experience
