Overview: As an Accounting Specialist, you will be an integral part of our finance team, responsible for managing specialized accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis and identify areas for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.
- Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances.
- Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets.
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Specialized Accounting Functions:
- Manage specific accounting functions such as inventory accounting, revenue recognition, or fixed asset accounting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Audit Support:
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide requested information in a timely manner.
- Participate in audit meetings and assist in resolving audit findings.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Develop and implement controls to mitigate financial risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and standardize processes.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to accounting staff on specialized accounting topics.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for accounting-related inquiries.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on specialized accounting functions.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
