Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing accounting support by ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date. The Accounting Clerk will handle a variety of tasks, including processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with payroll processing. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our financial department and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process invoices and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Maintain and update vendor and customer records.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers.
- Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports by collecting and analyzing data.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with the general ledger.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
- Payroll Assistance:
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions.
- Maintain payroll records and respond to payroll-related inquiries.
- Support to the Accounting Department:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the accounting team during audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Administrative Duties:
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and mailing financial documents.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or other senior staff.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is preferred.
