Job Summary:
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. This role involves processing and reconciling a wide range of accounting documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies, and assisting with general accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Enter financial transactions into accounting software.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Update and maintain accounting ledgers and databases.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
- Verify and post transactions to appropriate accounts.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Financial Reporting:
- Generate financial reports as requested by management.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budgets.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist with general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and managing correspondence.
- Answer and direct phone calls, and respond to inquiries related to accounting matters.
- Provide support for special projects and other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
