Job Description:
As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for providing support to the accounting department by performing various clerical tasks. Your primary duties will include managing financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. This role requires a high level of accuracy, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Process accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Perform data entry and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
- Assist with payroll processing.
- Prepare and submit invoices.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve billing issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven 1-2 years of experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Famous, SAP, SAGE, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
