Position Overview:
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical accounting duties, including data entry, invoice processing, account reconciliation, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, purchase orders, and payments to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
- Data Entry: Record financial transactions into accounting software and ensure all records are accurate and up to date.
- Bank Reconciliations: Assist with reconciling bank statements and credit card accounts, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- Support Month-End Closing: Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures, including journal entries and preparing reports for the accounting team.
- Filing & Documentation: Organize and maintain accounting files, invoices, receipts, and other financial records in compliance with company policy.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements for management and external stakeholders.
- Communication: Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding billing, payments, and discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role; experience with accounts payable/receivable preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, data entry).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
