Accounting Clerk - Fargo Park District

This position assists the Park District Finance team in recording revenues, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the accuracy of transactions as well as other general accounting functions as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:

• Counting, reviewing, and recording revenue turn-ins for deposit, then entering those items as revenue in the accounting system'
• Working with other technology platforms to record revenue from credit card, ACH, and other electronic sources.
• Be the team lead for working with other departments to ensure proper cash handling procedures and verifying till balances through site reviews.
• Main point of contact for monthly accounting, accounts payable, and reporting functions for Foundations.
• Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and customer service.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Evaluation of this position may also be based on performance of the following other functions, which include, but are not limited to:

• Maintains the turn-in forms and reviews annually for changes that are needed or for efficiencies that can be attained.
• Assists with audit or 990 preparations as needed.
• Assists accounts payable processes.
• Ability to learn different software platforms and understand reporting functions for time efficiency.
• Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key and significant issues or concerns.
• Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with one to three years’ experience in accounting work preferred.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
