About the Job
Job Description
Participates in the formulation and development of the General Ledger and supporting journals, General Ledger maintenance, financial statement analysis, and cost management processes for Client Team and programs.
Duties:
Assisting with formulation of new General Ledger to accomplish the following:
Change fiscal year end, Incorporate cost allocations into the GL software to improve automation of month end closings, Revise account structure to support revisions required to support NNSA reporting
and costing structure.
Analyzing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Preparing financial and budget reports and presentations for management.
Entering financial data and transactions into the general ledger.
Preparing and recording expense allocations to final cost objectives.
Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts.
Analyzing financial data and providing financial recommendations.
Working with other departments to ensure that spending is in line with the organization's goals.
Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards.
Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.
Skill Requirements:
Strong analytical skills
Effective problem-solving skills to identify and correct financial discrepancies
Technical accounting skills
Written and verbal communication skills to share accounting information when needed
Technical skills and experience using accounting software
Understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Ability to work on a team and independently
Strong organizational skills
