ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Accounting Associate is responsible for day-to-day general accounting and payable functions which may include supporting and coordinating the work of the finance department (AP, Travel and Expense Administration, Month/Year End Closing, Financial audit and Tax/J-Sox compliance). Responsibilities include:
- Review & process vendor invoices, expense reports, AMEX statements to assure accuracy and compliance with AP policy before posting into SAP.
- Make & record payments to vendors by checks or wire transfer in timely manner.
- Prepare weekly bank reconciliations, working with the AR department to resolve reconciling items
- Work closely with vendors regarding open payables
- Work with various departments on a monthly basis to ensure accurate posting of inventory and receivables.
- Respond to inquiries from Accounting Manager regarding expenses & ad hoc requests.
- Perform monthly closing. Make month-end standard journal entries, including amortization of assets, inventory adjustments, & calculation of accrual amounts.
- Maintain fixed asset and other balance sheets related schedules.
- Prepare, review and analyze various monthly financial reports.
- Reconcile and analyze GL balances, including cash and accounts payable.
- Coordinate with the external auditors and prepare supporting schedules and records to respond to the request and questions.
- Support our headquarters and subsidies during month end close.
- Support our tax team for tax compliance daily.
- Support our internal auditing function for J-Sox compliance.
- Actively participate in improvement activities
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Accounting Supervisor & Senior Manager
- 1 years of Accounting experience handling payables and monthly/year-end closings.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and automated accounting systems.
- ERP accounting module experience a plus, (SAP is ideal).
- Exceptional analytical, computer, and organizational skills are required.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Works well in a team environment.
- Able to work with a diverse group of departments and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills.

Pay Rate: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
This is the lowest to highest rate we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location and prevailing minimum wage, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
