Accounting Associate at Comtec Consultants

Role description:

As a Construction Accounting Associate, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our construction projects. This position reports directly to ownership and will have a primary role in the daily transactional activities of the company, as well as providing key support to billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Performing monthly close activities, including reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Maintaining the company’s accounting system and files.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Proven experience with a construction company, with knowledge of construction accounting.
• 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience, with knowledge of

       GAAP accounting (generally accepted accounting principles)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work on-site in Chicago metropolitan area.
