Job Description
Position Title: Accounting Assistant
Reports To: Finance Manager
Qualifications:
- Approximately 5 years of experience in accounting
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree required in a related field
- Proficient in Sage Fund Account Accounting Software or related software
- Proficient In:

Salary: Commensurate credentials and experience ($20-25 per hour)

Job Goal:
To support the Finance team in a variety of ways. These include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and participating in the closing process. The employee will use Sage Fund Accounting Software to process business transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash disbursements, and generate financial reports, all while ensuring that the Agency's financials are accurate. Comply with state and internal
controls and accounting functions. Support all functions in a small office environment.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Minimal lifting of office equipment or supplies routinely required. Must be able to communicate clearly and possess the ability to meet multiple job demands in a busy environment. May be required to operate his/her own vehicle when needed.
Duties:
- 1. Assist with the preparation of operating budgets, financial statements, and reports.
2. Support Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), including State agency billing,
monthly invoices, and preparing bank deposits
3. Manage account records, issue invoices, and handle payments.
4. Analyze financial data and assist with audits, reviews, and tax preparations.
5. Update financial spreadsheets and reports with the latest available data.
6. Prepare general ledger postings and statements
7. Trained in bi-weekly ADP payroll. Process withholding and garnishments, when need, 403(b) report,
process client and student worker wage statements.
8. Enters A/P & A/R into Sage Fund Account Accounting software
9. Review existing financial policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
10. Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
11. Collaborate with internal departments to reconcile any accounting discrepancies.
12. Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
13. Perform any other delegated non-instructional responsibilities assigned by President or Executive
Director/CFO.
