Our highly esteemed legal firm is currently seeking a dynamic Contract Accounting Assistant with a knack for numbers and a passion for detail. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic team and contribute to our firm's financial success. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy. This role will be instrumental in managing our accounts receivable and payable, overseeing billing processes, maintaining our bookkeeping systems, and performing data entry tasks. With a minimum of 2 years' experience under your belt, you will hit the ground running, adding value to our team from day one.
Responsibilities:
As a Contract Accounting Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all aspects of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
2. Overseeing the billing process, preparing invoices, and following up on outstanding payments.
3. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
4. Performing data entry tasks, ensuring all information is correctly inputted into our accounting system.
5. Assisting with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
6. Collaborating with the accounting team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
7. Complying with all legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess:
1. A minimum of 2 years' experience in an accounting role, preferably within the legal industry.
2. Proven experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, bookkeeping, and data entry.
3. A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
5. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data.
6. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
7. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. A proactive approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
