We are currently seeking a dynamic Accountant to join our mission driven non-profit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a diverse range of financial tasks including funder billing, invoicing, preparing project financial reports, communicating with project managers, and managing budgets. This role is pivotal to our financial operations and requires a professional with a strong understanding of revenue recognition for contracts, ASC 606, ASC 958, and experience with 2CFR200 (Uniform Guidance). Familiarity with Jamis is an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular funder billing and invoicing operations to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions.
2. Prepare comprehensive project financial reports, highlighting key financial indicators, trends, and variances.
3. Communicate regularly with project managers to provide financial insights, budget updates, and guidance on financial matters.
4. Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and objectives.
5. Ensure compliance with revenue recognition for contracts, ASC 606, and ASC 958 standards in all financial operations.
6. Implement and adhere to 2CFR200 (Uniform Guidance) in all financial processes and procedures.
7. Utilize Jamis for various financial functions, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
8. Perform regular financial audits and analyses to identify potential discrepancies and areas of improvement.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Accounting and Finance industry.
3. Strong expertise in funder billing, invoicing, and preparation of project financial reports.
4. Proven experience in managing budgets and communicating with project managers.
5. In-depth understanding and experience with revenue recognition for contracts, ASC 606, and ASC 958.
6. Familiarity with 2CFR200 (Uniform Guidance) and its implementation in financial operations.
7. Experience with Jamis or similar financial software is preferred.
8. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
