Our accounting department is a critical part of our success, and we are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant (Staff or Senior level) to join our dynamic team. We're looking to help them find the RIGHT fit and if that means they hire a Staff level that's fine, but they're also open to a Senior Accountant. The salary will depend on years of experience, exposure, skills, and education.
Position Summary:
The Accountant will play an essential role in supporting the accounting operations of the company. This position is ideal for someone with experience in accounting, especially within the construction industry, and familiarity with ERP accounting software. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), reconciliations, month-end duties, journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and some payroll oversight. The role reports directly to the Controller and will be part of a collaborative team of six accounting professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage and track customer invoices, payments, and aging reports. Ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and timely payments. Manage payment cycles and vendor relationships.
- General Ledger (GL) Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance of the GL, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Prepare journal entries and post adjustments as necessary.
- Month-End Close: Support month-end close procedures, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare reconciliations for various accounts, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy. Resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Payroll Oversight: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy of employee hours, deductions, and other payroll-related tasks in coordination with HR.
- ERP Accounting Software: Utilize ERP software designed for construction accounting to perform all accounting functions and maintain accurate records.
- Ad Hoc Reporting and Support: Provide financial analysis, reports, and support for management as required. Assist in special projects as needed.
