We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Accountant to join our energetic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who thrives in a vibrant and fast-paced work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, including month-end close, financial statements preparation, billing, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Accountant, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
3. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
4. Administer the company's payroll ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
5. Review all financial statements and ledgers, and work with the accounting team to correct any discrepancies.
6. Oversee the billing process, ensuring that all invoices are issued and paid in a timely and accurate manner.
7. Analyze financial reports and seek ways to reduce costs.
8. Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.
9. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
10. Ensure compliance with all internal processes and relevant regulations and ensure all company financial practices are in line with statutory regulations and legislation.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
5. Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks.
6. Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
10. Ability to analyze and diagnose complex financial information and report to stakeholders.
