Job Summary and Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for general accounting functions, such as month end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and various types of financial analysis.
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain multiple general ledgers
- Prepare monthly journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations as required to accurately close the monthly fiscal period
- Prepare detailed monthly actual to budget variance reports to support management in the review of monthly operating performance
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and making correcting entries
- Prepare and post key indicators and statistics
- Assist practice management as need with financial information requests and questions
- Prepare entries and reconcile Property Management Accounts Receivable accounts
- Manage lease payments, including preparing check requests, reconciling lease amounts, and communicating with landlords
- Prepare and submit Sales & Use tax returns, as required
- Audit cafeteria receipts
- Assist in quarterly petty cash fund audits
- Assist in annual budget process, cost report, and year-end tax workpapers
- Assist with Abandoned Property reports
- Perform final review of Accounts Payable invoices prior to posting to general ledger
- Participate in the year-end inventory count for the hospital and related entities
- Ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
- Respond timely to requests for information from Facility Management, Corporate, Internal Audit, and other internal and external management
- Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged and/or propriertary information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure
- Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
- Works as scheduled, including one weekend per month
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Associate Degree
- 1-3 Experience Preferred
