We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Property Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers, preparing and analyzing budgets, and performing general bookkeeping. You will also be tasked with the month-end close process and preparing journal entries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Property Accounting, Yardi, Excel, General Ledger, and "month-end close" processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and record asset, liability, income, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
2. Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other reports.
3. Ensure the accuracy of financial documents, as well as their compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
4. Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
5. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
6. Assist with the month-end closing process, ensuring that all financial data is recorded accurately and on time.
7. Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and support schedules.
8. Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
9. Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to financial information confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the finance industry.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional skills in Excel.
4. Experience with Yardi software is a plus.
5. Familiarity with Property Accounting and General Ledger.
6. Understanding of "month-end close" processes and Journal Entries.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to high levels of accuracy.
9. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
12. Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
13. Current knowledge of EEO and employment laws.
