Duties and Responsibilities
Perform a variety of accounting functions for travel accounting, compliance reporting, and DOE Reporting.
Reviews and analyzes accounting data for compliance with policies, procedures, laws, regulations and DOE/NNSA requirements
Interface and collaborate with the Finance Accounting and FP&A teams, Program Managers and Project Analysts, and Travelers, as needed.
Process employee travel requests in compliance with federal regulations.
Preferred - Experience with and/or exposure to Federal Travel Regulations.
Experience with large travel platforms, preferred (Expense Anywhere, Concur, AdTrav, etc.)
Assists with ServiceNow case management and LaunchPad tickets.
Reconciles travel/payroll related accounts.
Prepares and submits assigned journal entries and account reconciliations and maintain working papers required to record accounting activities.
Maintains subsidiary ledgers to support accounting control data and reconciles account balances.
Develops data to be used in determining cost variances. Analyze variances, prepare explanations, and investigate significant variances and account balances.
Analyzes data to identify recurring problems, then investigates and recommends corrective action.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, and 2 years of relevant experience
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
United States Citizenship
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
