Job Details
Reporting to the Controller, this position significantly contributes to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of Company financial information in accordance with GAAP and Company policy. Working with the accounting team to identify and implement efficient techniques and process improvements. Interacting with financial and non-financial internal customers to promote adherence to internal controls, and to provide guidance to maintain system and process integrity providing accurate financial statements. Manage and maintain financial system integrity, including consolidation system maintenance and monitoring.

Job Details
Reporting to the Controller, this position significantly contributes to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of Company financial information in accordance with GAAP and Company policy. Working with the accounting team to identify and implement efficient techniques and process improvements. Interacting with financial and non-financial internal customers to promote adherence to internal controls, and to provide guidance to maintain system and process integrity providing accurate financial statements. Manage and maintain financial system integrity, including consolidation system maintenance and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete general ledger close and certain month-end reporting activities
- Prepare accurate and properly supported journal entries, and prepare account reconciliations to audit/business standards
- Prepare and file sales & use tax returns
- Maintain the Sage Fixed Asset reporting system
- Monitor internal control policies and procedures and assist in performing internal controls reviews
- Provide support for external audit and tax requirements
- Perform special projects as necessary
Required Skills:
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline oriented, and collaborative (team) environment
- Strong discipline for insuring financial activities meet established accounting standards and internal controls
- Detail focus to insure accuracy and completeness of work
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with internal financial, external audit & tax, and business partners
- Persistence in resolving projects and assignments
- Able to handle and safeguard confidential information
- Proficient with Excel
Required Experience:
- 2 – 3 years of relevant industry experience or 1 – 2 busy seasons of public accounting experience
- Experience in manufacturing and industrial companies highly desirable
- Experience with consolidation logic and system requirements
- Experience with Hyperion &/or Oracle a plus
- Experience with audit or tax a plus
- CPA desirable
