Salary/Hourly Rate:
$30/hr – $35/hr
Position Overview:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, including processing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining general ledger accuracy, reconciling financial statements, and contributing to month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires working closely with the Senior Finance team members and various departments to ensure precision in financial data management. Responsibilities of the Accountant:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
- Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable with attention to detail to ensure prompt payment and collections.
- Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entry postings and account reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank statements and assist with cash management tasks.
- Support tax preparation and regulatory filings in compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain records of fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Collaborate with senior accountants during external audits and assist with timely audit-related tasks.
- Prepare data and analysis to assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Perform other accounting duties as needed to support the finance department.
Qualifications for the Accountant:
- 2 – 5+ years of accounting experience, particularly in areas such as general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, and v-lookups (knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar ERP systems is a plus).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, even under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with a proactive mindset and enthusiasm for continuous learning and development in the field.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus but not required.
