This contract to hire role as an Accountant III in Chicago, IL is responsible for closing the monthly books and reviewing and/or performing analysis and preparing financial statements and reporting for one or more highly complex, risky, and visible subsidiaries.
Responsibilities:
• Closing the monthly books and reviewing and/or performing analysis and preparing financial statements and reporting for one or more highly complex, risky, and visible subsidiaries.
• Overseeing accounting activities and project managing critical processes and important deliverables for the department.
• Performing challenging or especially complex accounting that may require sophisticated processing, contractual, and/or accounting understanding or that impact multi-million dollars accounts.
• Support the internal and external audit inquiries including MAR, audit services as well as EY requests on a monthly, quarterly & annual basis.
• Provide support to the automation projects and provide inputs from accounting perspectives for the process improvements.
Job Requirements:
• College degree in accounting and 3 years of accounting experience or 7 years accounting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret financial and membership reports.
• Experience with financial reporting systems.
• MS Office including Word and Excel.
• Keen analytical skills and very detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task.
• Clear, concise communication with good grammar, appropriate word choice.
Preferred Job Requirements:
• Experience with month end close tracking software such as Cadency, Oracle Cloud ERP and query tools like Smartview.
• Experience with generally accepted accounting principles and statutory accounting.
