Accountant II - Hybrid - Sun Chemical

Job Title: Accountant II

Work location: Cincinnati, Ohio with flexibility to work hybrid

The Accountant II is responsible on a daily basis for cash application, payment processing, bank reconciling, and treasury accounting. The Accountant II is expected to obtain superior knowledge in these processes. Key responsibilities included but are not limited to:

• Manage quality of daily processing and demonstrate an ability to support level 1 team members with guidance on processing challenging items.
• Maintain a strong understanding of ERP software and GCO processes to support straight through process changes as needed.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and impacts to the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
• Manage first point of escalation to external customers, internal Sun Chemical customers, and GCO team members for daily support of cash application, bank reconciliation and payment processing.
• Complete non-standard processing, with ability to learn and adapt to new situations.
• Contribute ideas and actions toward the continuous improvement of processes within area of influence.
• Manage exception items and requests from the business ensuring proper controls and documentation.
• Assist Global Cash operations team where needed in daily processing to ensure tasks are completed by the end of the day.
• Promote strong collaborative relationships between the Global Cash Operations Team and all other shared service teams including internal and external customers.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-4 years accounting experience
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting required
• MBA desired
• Shared service center experience desired
• Familiarity with SAP a plus
• Advanced Microsoft Office suite expertise preferred
