Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant 1 to join our finance team. In this position, you will be responsible for performing basic accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, and assisting with the maintenance of accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow within the accounting field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including data entry, invoice processing, and payment tracking.
- Cash application posting.
- Reconcile bank statements and verify financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized financial filing systems and documentation for easy retrieval and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to identify process improvements and streamline accounting procedures.
- Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding financial transactions and reporting.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices to enhance professional knowledge and contribute to the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with accounting or ERP software is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in financial reporting.
